Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

Given the state of the offensive line, it’s not hard to understand why so many mock drafters are sending the Chiefs some prospects to help both inside and out. Speaking of outside help, Nate Davis from USA Today released his latest mock draft and he’s got some help from the region coming to save the day for a crippled pair of bookends for the Chiefs. Davis has the Chiefs selecting Teven Jenkins, an impressive tackle prospect from Oklahoma State. He writes:

"The world saw what happened to their decimated line in Super Bowl 55. Even if first-string OTs Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz, both north of 30, return in 2021, it’s time to plan ahead and certainly time to bolster the depth in front of QB Patrick Mahomes."

Jenkins comes with 37 starts at the college level at both tackle spots as well as right guard, meaning he also comes with quite a bit of versatility. At 6’6, 320 lbs., Jenkins certainly looks the part, and he’s a mauler who has been rising up draft boards.

Projections are all over the place at present, but the run on offensive tackles in the first round last season shows just how much of a need it is in the NFL, and if the Chiefs grabbed one at the bottom of the first to secure their own, it wouldn’t surprise anyone.
