Second round preview

The need for a pass rusher was very prevalent during the Super Bowl. Kansas City was only capable of producing four pressures on Tom Brady. Chris Jones is a force on the inside, but Frank Clark has been a non-factor more often than not during the last two years in the regular season.

Defensive ends Alex Okafor, Tanoh Kpassagnon and Taco Charlton are all set to hit free agency this offseason, and it is unlikely that the Chiefs retain all of them. If Kansas City does, indeed, pick an offensive lineman in the first round, they should look to draft an edge rusher in the second round of the 2021 draft.

One potential edge rusher that the Chiefs could look to add to their team is Quincy Roche out of the University of Miami. Roche spent three seasons at Temple before transferring to Miami before the 2020 season. The 6’4, 235 pound edge rusher totaled 26 sacks during his three years at Temple. During his one season at Miami, Roche produced 45 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 10 games. Here’s what The Draft Network has to say about Roche:

"Roche is a true technician for the position that is polished with his hands, has great vision, and is a quick processor. While he is lean and has modest length, he overcomes any physical deficiencies with technique, flexibility, athleticism, and above-average strength for an EDGE of his size.”"
