Look, we’re all miserable. Or stunned. Or miserable and stunned.
It’s the Monday morning after a Super Bowl in which the Kansas City Chiefs went from favored franchise ready to defend their title to doormats for another Tom Brady ring, this time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
If you tuned in on Sunday evening, you saw dropped passes and communication concerns. You watched odd timeouts and a few questionable play calls. You watched injuries catch up with a team that outran them all season, and a startling lack of adjustments against a team that was clearly more prepared. You also watched poor Patrick Mahomes flee for his life.
And of course, we haven’t even touched the ridiculous officiating, the abysmal special teams play (except for Harrison Butker), the absence of Sammy Watkins and Le’Veon Bell, the inability to generate any real pass rush after the first quarter, and much more.
As we said, we’re all miserable.
But as my grandpa always said, “Leave it better than you found it.” That goes for relationships, too, and you, dear reader, deserve to be in a better place than we found you when you first clicked to read this story. So to that end, we’re going to try our best to find the sunny side up in all of this and see if there are any positive takeaways from this game.
