Yeah, we know. First things first. The Kansas City Chiefs have a Super Bowl in front of them to think about, so it seems silly to already look forward to next season’s edition. That said, sports bettors are already taking wagers on how teams are going to fare at the end of the 2021 NFL season, and the Chiefs are another hot bet. In fact, they’re the overwhelming favorites.
According to Bet Online, the Chiefs are the only team among the field of entrants with better odds to win next season’s Super Bowl—which would technically be referred to as Super Bowl LVI—with odds greater than 12-to-1, which is where a four-way tie for second place comes in between the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, and Los Angeles Rams.

The Chiefs, of course, are going to be favored so heavily because their core is going to be intact through the 2022 season. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Mecole Hardman and more will all be back on offense, and the defense will remain anchored by Tyrann Mathieu, Chris Jones and others. Some other players will come and go, but the Chiefs will also remain a popular destination for veteran players who want a solid chance at a championship.
As for other teams, it’s interesting that the Rams are listed here among the second-tier, which means oddsmakers are smiling at the addition of Matthew Stafford under center for the Rams (and the presence of Aaron Donald on the defensive side). Vegas also clearly believes that Tom Brady will be back and healthy for another season in Tampa Bay given their presence at +1200 odds. The same can be said for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. And of course, the Bills have shown a tremendous growth curve in the AFC over the last couple seasons, although their biggest hurdle will continue to be the presence of the Chiefs.
The Chiefs are already considered favorites for Super Bowl LVI.
For now, however, the most important thing to focus upon is the present situation, which means Super Bowl LV. The Chiefs are hoping their “run it back” campaign can come to fruition after an arduous year held during a global pandemic. If so, they’ll be feeling very good themselves about their chances for a three-peat.
