10. Steve Spagnuolo

While Andy Reid deservingly gets most of the praise for having his team ready to play, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo warrants a shout out too. The Chiefs defense has a handful of standout players (a few of which may just show up on this list), but they often play better than the sum of their parts and that is a huge credit to Spags and his staff.

While the defense has had issues at times throughout the season, they always seem prepared for the big games. The defense both plays with great energy in big games and seems to have a really smart plan for how to approach each specific team. The Chiefs seem to know when to blitz and when to drop more guys in coverage They also seem to know how to limit the damage by other teams’ star players. The Bob Sutton years should have made each and every Chiefs fan appreciate just how valuable that is.

The Chiefs defense was great on Sunday against the Bills, and if Spagnuolo has an equally good plan for facing Tampa Bay in two weeks, the Chiefs will be almost impossible to beat.
