The Kansas City Chiefs brought in three players for free agent visits on Thursday, according to NFL reporter Field Yates. Two players should already be familiar to Chiefs fans—at least passionate ones who follow the practice squad—while a third is a newer face who had spent years with the Seattle Seahawks.

On Thursday, the Chiefs hosted offensive linemen Justin Britt and Darryl Williams along with defensive back Rodney Clemons for a visit to Arrowhead Stadium.

Britt’s name should be familiar to NFL fans who have followed the league for several years, given that he’s served as a long-term starter along the offensive front for the Seahawks since they selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Britt was an early starter at tackle and guard for the Seahawks, but ultimately settled in at center from 2016-19 before suffering an ACL injury. Seattle decided to move on at the position after that.

Britt has been unemployed since his release from Seattle last April, but it’s likely that he’s just now healthy enough to think about returning to the field. The Chiefs might be doing some homework for the short and long-term here if they are interested in adding a veteran looking to prove he’s got something left in the tank. Britt was a Pro Bowl alternate back in 2016.

The Chiefs already had Clemons and Williams on the roster earlier this offseason, with Clemons as a very recent cut from the team’s practice squad. He was a rookie free agent out of SMU this season. Williams was also cut just a week ago from the practice squad as well after signing with them as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State.

Next. Chiefs still have that championship swagger. dark
