The Kansas City Chiefs have made a number of roster moves in anticipation of finalizing the playoff roster ahead of their matchup against the Cleveland Browns in the Divisional Round—though none of the moves were necessarily major moves that will turn heads.

One move made by the Chiefs on Saturday was placing backup tight end Deon Yelder on injured reserve. To replace him on the active roster, the team added Ricky Seals-Jones. Seals-Jones played very little during the year after signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs in the offseason. This likely places more importance on Nick Keizer’s performance as the primary backup for Travis Kelce.

In addition, the Chiefs have added linebacker Dorian O’Daniel to the active roster officially after removing him from injured reserve earlier in December. The team had three weeks to add him or stash him back on IR for the duration of the season. O’Daniel gives the Chiefs a bit more security at linebacker and on special teams given the absence of Willlie Gay, Jr. due to injury. Gay was ruled out for Sunday’s game earlier this week along with wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

In addition, the Chiefs made two more moves to add their weekly players from the practice squad. This week, they chose defensive back Chris Lammons and wide receiver Gehrig Dieter.

Finally, the team added two players to the practice squad in journeyman tight end Evan Baylis and offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho, who was the Eagles sixth round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs host the Browns on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium for the chance to go to the AFC Championship, which they would also host with a win, next weekend. Kickoff is at 2:05 p.m. C.T.
