Byron Pringle

One of the great mysteries of the 2020 Kansas City Chiefs is why they refuse to give Byron Pringle more reps with the first string offense. Every time he is given a chance to play he produces and looks good in the process. If guys like Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman were setting the world on fire then I would get it, but they aren’t.

This is a football team that has struggled to get wide receiver production outside of Tyreek Hill any time that Sammy Watkins has been dinged up and unavailable. The Chiefs could be getting production out of Pringle right now, but they just keep rolling Robinson and Hardman out there over him again and again. Pringle once again made the most of his opportunities on Sunday with four receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown. He also averaged 25.7 yards on three kick returns.

If the Chiefs are in a close game in the playoffs with their season on the line and I have the choice of Patrick Mahomes throwing to Demarcus Robinson, Mecole Hardman, or Byron Pringle, I would pick Pringle and I don’t think I’d even have to think that hard about it. Hopefully at some point, the Chiefs coaching staff will see what most of us fans see and get Pringle more playing time on offense (and frankly I’d much rather have him returning kicks/punts than Hardman as well).

So that’s my list of players that impressed me and may have improved their status with the team going forward. What do you think Chiefs fans? Do you like all of my picks? Is there anyone that I left off the list that you would have put on it? I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments below.
