Yasir Durant

The Chiefs are likely going to allow their tackles to rest on Sunday given that each of them have been dealing with back injuries late in the season. Mitch Schwartz is already out and Eric Fisher is likely going to get the chance to sit, but even backup Mike Remmers has been ailing as well, despite returning just last week, which means that Yasir Durant could get his first start of the season.

Durant came to the Chiefs after starting at the University of Missouri for the last few years. As a rookie free agent, he was a pleasant preseason surprise for K.C. after making the team and he even earned a few snaps in relief of Remmers which shows the Chiefs’ trust in him. When given a chance to start for Remmers, the Chiefs decided to go with veteran Andrew Wylie outside instead of the rookie, but that’s understandable given the learning curve involved.

For a game with nothing else on the line other than pride and some potential future development, it makes sense to see how Durant fares against the likes of Joey Bosa or Melvin Ingram for a full game.
