Frank Clark can still wreak havoc and other lessons from Chiefs vs Falcons

Sack Nation is alive and well

Frank Clark was unstoppable on Sunday against a Falcons front line with multiple high draft picks. Chris Jones was his typically disruptive self. Both players were named to the 2020 Pro Bowl for the Chiefs earlier this week, and any doubters could look at Sunday’s highlight reel for reasons why.

Clark and Jones both finished with 3 hits on Matt Ryan apiece, and many of those blows came at exactly the right time. Clark in particular hit Ryan multiple times on plays that looked as if the Falcons quarterback had fumbled the ball more than once. On both occasions, the officials called them incomplete passes. Those sorts of plays are the difference between winning and losing in the postseason, and the Chiefs front line was rounding into form on Sunday with January coming into view.

Both Clark and Jones are being paid big money for the Chiefs up front, which means oversized expectations are going to come with it. It’s good to see Clark respond to some midseason criticism by absolutely teeing off on the Falcons. If not for the pursuit and disruption up front on Sunday, there’s no way the Chiefs go home with that win.
