Bovada has Patrick Mahomes as the clear odds-on front runner for NFL MVP.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is three quarters of the way through the 2020 season and it looks as if he’s growing more certain every week of adding some impressive hardware to his mantle once again. With only four games left to turn heads, Mahomes is the odds-on favorite to land his second Most Valuable Player trophy according to Bovada.

If Mahomes were to win the NFL MVP award, it would be his third major trophy in only three seasons as a starting quarterback. He won the MVP trophy for the first time in 2018 after putting up 50 touchdowns and 5,000 passing yards in 2018, and he followed that up with a Super Bowl MVP trophy in 2019 as he led the Chiefs to their first championship in five decades.

This season, Mahomes once again has the Chiefs positioned for a deep postseason run with an 11-1 record. He currently leads the NFL in passing yards with 3,815, yards per game with nearly 318, and a QBR of 85.8. He’s thrown 31 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions so far on the season, and he’s completing 68.3 percent of his passes—a career-high mark if he can keep it up.

Mahomes is the favorite to win MVP at this point with the line at -450, but Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is also in view at +400. From there, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (+1400), Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (+2000), and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (+5000) round out the top five.

The Chiefs recently signed Mahomes to a 10-year extension worth up to $450 million to keep him in Kansas City for the long term. It’s easy to understand why.
