The Kansas City Chiefs will be without Khalen Saunders and Sammy Watkins among others against the Raiders.
The Kansas City Chiefs have officially submitted their list of inactive players as they prepare to take the field against the Las Vegas Raiders. The list includes wide receiver Sammy Watkins, as expected, and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders among others who will sit instead of play as the Chiefs hope to avenge their only loss on the year.
Watkins was expected to be inactive for this game given that he was declared out on the team’s official injury report, which was submitted on Friday. Watkins had returned to practice after resting for weeks due to a hamstring injury, but he was limited and clearly wasn’t ready just yet to return to action. The Chiefs have been without Watkins for several weeks, ever since the team’s home loss to the Raiders in Week 5.
As for Saunders, it’s frustrating to see him sit as a healthy scratch due to the fact that he was a third round pick for the team just last season. Saunders was injured earlier this year which stifled his development coming into his sophomore season, but he returned from a dislocated elbow back in late October but has been inactive in all but his first game back in Week 7. Perhaps the emergence of Tershawn Wharton has put Saunders on the back burner, so to speak, but there are questions here that need answers.
As for the rest of the Chiefs inactives, you can find that list here.
