The Kansas City Chiefs have several players hoping to get better on the other side of the bye week.

The bye week came at the right time for the Kansas City Chiefs. Before the stretch run and what should be a long postseason slate, the Chiefs now get a chance to rest and rehabilitate for a full week before preparing to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11, a game that kicks off the second part of the team’s 2020 schedule.

The back nine of the schedule (really it’s seven) is among the easiest collection of games in the NFL, but it’s looking tougher by the week given the turnaround of some teams like the Atlanta Falcons. In addition, it’s important to note that most teams play the Chiefs tougher than anyone else in an attempt to knock off the defending Super Bowl champs. Plus there are tough opponents already known in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.

As for any team hoping to play well into the postseason, health is going to play a major factor and the Chiefs are no different. The team is dealing with a number of injury concerns at the moment, and several of them involve timelines that are unknown—at least to those of us on the outside. These are pressing concerns since many of these performers aren’t fringe players but core contributors.

Let’s run down the list of important players the Chiefs are still waiting on and what we hope happens after the bye week.
