Patrick Mahomes threw for five touchdowns and over 400 yards against the New York Jets, declaring himself an entrant for the 2020 NFL MVP.

It’s a two-horse race for NFL MVP, folks. Patrick Mahomes absolutely demolished the New York Jets on Sunday and while to be fair, demolishing the Jets isn’t exactly hard to do, Mahomes threw so many touchdowns that he got himself into the MVP conversation.

Patrick will have some work to do if he hopes to catch Russell Wilson, who is throwing a touchdown about every other play this year. The season is only half over, however, so Mahomes has plenty of time to overtake Wilson.

MVP’s are nice but the Chiefs are after a second straight Super Bowl and they sure looked like the team to beat on Sunday. Dive into our latest Arrowhead Addict podcast to get our game reaction. We also spend a good amount of time talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens as those two teams seem to be the clear competition for the Chiefs moving forward.
