The Jets are a dumpster fire and NFL experts are picking the Chiefs in a blowout.

Adam Gase is somehow still an NFL coach. Joe Flacco is apparently still a quarterback in the NFL. It also turns out that Robby Anderson was completely debilitated by the Jets offense. That’s right, the New York Jets are coming to town this week and no one is giving them an ounce of hope in their matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Why should they? The Jets are possibly the worst team the NFL has had since the winless Cleveland Browns of 2017, or the Detroit Lions of 2008. Either way, it seems silly to consider the possibility of the Chiefs losing in this one.

The Chiefs have one of the best offenses in football and are coming off of an impressive victory over the Denver Broncos in which they scored in all three phases of the game. The Jets have never scored more than one touchdown on offense in a game this season. The contrast is stark and the experts are not willing to gamble their reputation on the Jets.

Here is what NFL experts have to say about Sunday’s game between the visiting Jets and the Chiefs.

CBS

Not only is the panel in complete agreement that the Chiefs will emerge victorious over the Jets, but they are also betting that the Chiefs will cover the enormous point spread. That point spread is currently set at19.5 points. That is substantial. Whether or not you are a fan of the Chiefs, to expect them to win ANY game by 20 points is to have a serious abundance of confidence.

Here is what Will Brinson had to say about the game in his weekly column at CBS Sports:

"“You know the rule? We don’t bet on Adam Gase in this house. Even when he’s catching almost *three touchdowns* we don’t bet on him. Plus, I think Le’Veon Bell is gonna run wild in the second half here and possibly score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to spite Gase and give the Chiefs the cover.”The Pick: Chiefs 28, Jets 3"

ESPN

Every single panelist backed the Chiefs this week. Again, this is to be expected. When considering the way the NFL is designed, it is shocking to see such an enormous spread. The NFL is wild. Columnists and experts have been programmed to expect the unexpected, to view every team as being able to win “on any given Sunday.” It appears, however, that no one in the media believes that the Chiefs can possibly lose this week’s game.

NFL.com

At NFL.com, Gregg Rosenthal is a widely respected NFL columnist and he, like seemingly everyone else, not only predicts the Chiefs to win but to also cover that massive spread. To reiterate, it is a rarity to expect such a dominant performance in the National Football League. Here is what Rosenthal had to say:

"Kansas City Chiefs 34, New York Jets 11After a few signs of life early against the Bills, Sam Darnold retreated. Whether it’s Darnold’s fault or Adam Gase’s, the third-year quarterback’s decision-making remains his biggest problem. Opposing coordinators are still making him see ghosts too often. It’s a matchup that plays beautifully to the Chiefs’ defensive strengths. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo loves cooking up blitzes and using Tyrann Mathieu to mess with the minds of young signal-callers. The return of underrated cornerback Bashaud Breeland to the Chiefs’ lineup makes this Kansas City defense dynamic, especially in the right matchup."

FiveThirtyEight

It’s a wonder that FiveThirtyEight is able to have anyone focus on football. No matter where you turn, all that you hear is whether Biden or Trump will win the Presidency and who will win the Senate. Although the website’s election model is incredible, they are pretty great when it comes to sports, too. For every game, they provide an estimated percentage for each team to win the game based on factors of mathematics. In this week’s prediction, FiveThirtyEight is predicting the Chiefs will win giving them a whopping 92% chance of winning the game this week. That is astounding.

Overview:

According NFL Pick Watch, the Chiefs are overwhelming favorites this week. In fact, there is not a single expert taking the Jets. No, really. Not a single expert across dozens of websites are taking Kansas City to win the game on Sunday.

Honestly, as staggering as the numbers are, they should not be that surprising. The Jets are not well-coached, they do not have playmakers on offense, and their defense has the most missed tackles this season. This team is on a historical pace to be one of the worst teams ever assembled. The Chiefs are coming off of a Super Bowl win from a year ago. This is a simple pick to make and if the Jets pull off a miracle it will be a historic moment in NFL history.
