Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks is listed as questionable for Thursday.
With just over 24 hours before the kickoff of the first game of the season, both the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans have finished their final practices of the week which means injury reports for the NFL’s season-opening game have been submitted.
The biggest concern for either team comes on Houston’s side where wide receiver Brandin Cooks is listed as questionable for the Thursday Night Football game.

Cooks, the Texans’ number two receiver, was picked up in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams during the offseason. Cooks was supposed to help contribute to a weakened receiving corps after the trade of DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. The already thin group of the Texans cannot stand to take a loss this early in the season.
If Cooks misses the game, that will leave Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills to take more snaps, limiting Houston’s offense even worse. This will also further limit the Texans’ ability to capitalize on the Chiefs’ biggest weakest in their secondary, which will make winning the game even harder for the Texans.
As for other injuries, Houston has two other players listed as questionable in their injury report. Johnathon Greenard was their third round pick at outside linebacker and was set to be a key rotation piece in their defense. Cullen Gillaspia is their starting fullback.
Despite starting the week with both Travis Kelce and Derrick Nnadi limited in practice, the Chiefs finished the week with every player on the roster being a full participant in practice two days in a row. All players are healthy and ready to play in front of the Arrowhead fans tomorrow night.
