Offensive Line

4) Los Angeles Chargers

The offensive line fielded by the Chargers continues to be a complete mystery and by far the weakness of the team. Every year, it seems that the team understands this weakness and invests in bringing in new players to work towards improving the situation, and it never seems to pay off. 2020 appears to bring more of the same.

3) Denver Broncos

Denver actually has a more talented offensive line than Kansas City, and perhaps even more than Las Vegas, too. But, the team does not have the continuity in place that the other two teams have, and that places them third on this power rankings list, for now. In the long run, we could find the Broncos number one on this list.

2) Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the biggest disparities on their offensive line between their best and worst player. Typically, we’re told the chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link, but the Chiefs line a season ago seemed to prove otherwise. Right tackle Mitchell Schwartz is one of the best, if not the best, at the position in the entire NFL. Center Austin Reiter, however, is certainly in the bottom third of all starting centers in football. Kansas City’s guard position is dealing with injury, new players, and an opt-out, so we’re not really even positive who is starting there. Fortunately for KC, Schwartz, and left tackle Eric Fisher, provide stability and continuity here, enough to make them the second best line in the league.

1) Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have the best offensive line in the AFC West, primarily because they’re slightly above average across the board. That consistency in terms of ability should ensure that they’re able to function well as a unit throughout the season. In 2019, the group propelled rookie Josh Jacobs to the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. The team should expect to see an improved, cohesive line in 2020, particularly along the interior where the team boasts three Pro Bowl caliber players.
