9. Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield certainly has the swagger and media attention of a star quarterback, but unfortunately for the Cleveland Browns the production was a let down last season. After a really promising end to his rookie season, Mayfield had a sophomore slump in 2020. He led the AFC in interceptions and his completion percentage dropped over 4% from his rookie year to below 60% on the season.

I’m not ready to write Mayfield off yet, but he certainly needs to rebound this season. The good news is that Mayfield showed his rookie season that he has the talent to succeed in the NFL and he has some offensive weapons around him to help him. While I don’t know if Mayfield will ever produce at a level worthy of a first overall selection, I am predicting that he’ll have a bounce-back season in 2020. However, I am still weary enough that Mayfield is just outside of the top half of these AFC rankings.
