10. Philip Rivers

If I’m being honest, my gut said not to even put Philip Rivers this high on the list. I think he’s done. My original list actually had Rivers and Tyrod Taylor flip flopped from these spots. At the end of the day, Rivers’ experience and track record along with my belief in the Indianapolis Colts coaching staff made me reconsider. Rivers did throw for over 4,600 yards last season. That’s something.

The problem is that Rivers was just one interception away from being tied for the AFC lead in that department. His 23 touchdowns to 20 interception ratio was not a great sign for an aging 38-year-old quarterback. I’m also not convinced that Rivers is getting an upgrade in offensive supporting cast in moving from Los Angeles to Indianapolis.

The Colts did add some new offensive weapons in the draft, but will they be ready to go this season? Rivers has had a highly productive career and he probably deserves to be ahead of the previous six quarterbacks on this list, but I don’t expect him to return to his glory days at this point in his career.
