15. Ryan Fitzpatrick/Tua Tagovailoa

Ryan Fitzpatrick has overachieved on more than one occasion and for more than one NFL team. In fact, the Chiefs may not have become Super Bowl Champions if it wasn’t for Fitzpatrick leading the Dolphins to a win over the New England Patriots late last season that allowed the Chiefs to earn a first round bye. Fitzpatrick isn’t a bad quarterback, but his upside is limited, especially over the course of a full season.

I debated putting Fitzpatrick a couple of spots higher on this list based on his ability to overachieve and the fact that I think the Miami Dolphins could surprise some people this season. However, I think there is a chance that, at some point, the Dolphins could bench Fitzpatrick for their first round rookie Tua Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa could have a bright future in the NFL, but I don’t like his odds of playing well this season. He is recovering from a very significant injury and doesn’t get a NFL preseason to knock the rust off and adapt to the NFL game. I think that could make for a rocky start to his career.

So despite Fitzpatrick’s magic, the potential of turning things over to Tagovailoa at some point kept them near the bottom of these rankings.
