3. Deshaun Watson

Now we are getting into the “Big 3” of the AFC quarterbacks. Yes, Big Ben could potentially prove he still belongs in the conversations as well, but starting with Deshaun Watson, there is a huge step up from most of the quarterbacks in the conference. Watson has been a clear franchise quarterback from when he started his first game in the NFL. While he may not have been quite as dynamic as Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, he’s been a consistent top ten talent.

Watson is a proven pocket passer, but can make plays with his legs, too. He completed 67.3% of his passes with 26 passing touchdowns and added 413 yards rushing and 7 rushing touchdowns as well. Watson lost his best weapon, DeAndre Hopkins, this offseason, so it will be interesting to see if that has an effect on him this season. Watson also has to overcome head coach Bill O’Brien. Frankly, I think Watson can blame his weapons and head coach for not being challenging for a higher spot on this list.
