The Broncos lose ten games

The Denver Broncos may have finally found the fix for their Peyton Manning shaped hole at QB. Drew Lock has swagger, talent, and appears more competent than any player to hold the position since the biggest forehead in sports retired (that is the only one, I promise). Where we have not yet seen the on-field leadership that most franchises desire from the quarterback, Lock seems moldable and teachable and that should spell success for him in the future.

Just maybe not in the 2020 NFL season.

The Broncos face one of the toughest schedules in the NFL this season, with teams like the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints, and Tennessee Titans being some of the scariest names on their non-divisional section. It goes without saying that they also play the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, meaning that 6 of their 16 games are against playoff teams. This is not accounting for their games against Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins who have rebuilt and seem much stronger.

Divisional games always trouble the Broncos, which means that altogether 12 of the Broncos 16 games are legitimately tough games for the Broncos to win. This would be a rough spread for a team of elite veterans, let alone a team build on young players, many of whom have not yet experienced a winning season.

The Broncos are set up to have a rough season unless Lock has progressed unbelievably fast. Is a 10 loss season a bit extreme? Sure, but so is giving the Broncos anything more than six wins.
