Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark checks into the NFL’s Top 100 list at No. 95.

The NFL’s annual Top 100 Players list for the 2020 season debuted on Sunday night, and the Kansas City Chiefs found themselves represented by their first entry at No. 95 overall with the announcement of defensive end Frank Clark at the spot.

Clark anchored the front seven for the Chiefs last year in an unforgettable season that delivered the team’s first Super Bowl win in 50 years. The former Seattle Seahawks pass rusher became the new cornerstone for the Chiefs pass rush after the team decided to move on from the likes of Justin Houston, Dee Ford, Allen Bailey and more.

The trade that brought over Clark was fairly divisive at the time that general manager Brett Veach made the call to completely remake the Chiefs defense. However, his vision for having Clark as his primary pass rusher was a great one and Clark made good on the team’s considerable investment with a year to remember.

For the first few games, Clark played through significant pain and even numbness in his fingers with a neck injury that would have sidelined other players. However, Clark ended up with 37 tackles, 14 quarterback hits, 8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception when the regular season finished.

The best was yet to come for Clark in the postseason as he put up an incredible five sacks in three playoff games for the Chiefs. He added another seven quarterback hits and was relentless in all four quarters in each game, allowing the Chiefs to come back in each contest as the defense held strong late in contests.

Given his late season surge in productivity, the best is likely yet to come on the stat sheet for Clark with the Chiefs. With fellow pass rusher Chris Jones also locked up for the next four seasons, the Chiefs front line is among the best in the NFL.
