Kansas City Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill called out Marquise Goodwin on First Take.

Tyreek Hill is a man on a mission this offseason.

Not only has the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver set his sights incredibly high for the 2020 season, with a stated goal of breaking the 2,000 yards receiving mark, but he’s also calling out anyone and everyone who believes they can match his speed. It’s an offseason in which Hill seems intent on proving his supremacy among his peers.

Hill recently posted a video in which he raced NFL legend Terrell Owens, and he seems willing to go through with another race to show off his speed. This time, the race would likely come against Philadelphia Eagles receiver/returner Marquise Goodwin. That’s because Goodwin has apparently wanted a piece of Hill for some time.

In the video, Goodwin mentions that he thought Hill was going to participate with him and several other of the NFL’s faster players in the event known as 40 Yards of Gold. Goodwin won the event, but apparently participants are having a hard time getting paid. Perhaps Hill dodged a financial bullet with that one. Still, Goodwin was hoping he would be there.

Hill apparently didn’t appreciate the indirect take and responded on a recent appearance of ESPN’s First Take. (It should be noted that Goodwin in the video was being baited to answer a question about his own speed versus Hill in the first place, and that the vid cuts off right as Goodwin is complimenting Hill’s skill set).

Here’s what Hill had to say:

"“If these people really want to race me, they will personally message me on Twitter, on Instagram. They wouldn’t go on Twitter and then talk trash and not at me. If you’re gonna talk trash, at least at me, dog. At least at me.”"

First Take hosts then ask Hill if there’s someone specific that he’s referring to and he continues:

"“Marquise Goodwin, whoever wants to race me. I’ve already proved I’m already better at you at wide receiver, at wideout. Now I gotta prove to you that I’m faster than you, too? That’s really gonna hurt when I’m faster than you and I move better than you. That’s really gonna hurt. But all love to you though. But next time, just at me please. I just need you to at me.”"

At this point, the pot will either boil over, likely culminating in some official race between the two, or simmer all the way because some communication happens between them.

Both players are clearly very fast. Goodwin is a former track star who was an actual U.S. Olympian in the 2012 games in London. Hill, on the other hand, has been clocked as the fastest player in the NFL in the past and is the league’s best deep threat.

Perhaps this goes to the next level, but if nothing else, we’re seeing a confident player in Hill who is determined to take down any competition in front of him. That should bode well for the Chiefs in 2020.
