The 2020 Chiefs season schedule has been released and some games stand out above the rest for being easy ones to win.

For the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the 2020 regular season schedule represents a chance to “run it back” en route to being the first team in a while to win back-to-back Super Bowls.

By virtue of the way NFL schedules are built, and the Chiefs being a divisional leader, the team’s schedule has quite a few tough opponents. However it also has some opponents that stick out as easy victories.

Who are those opponents? What makes those matchups stand out?

Week 2: @ Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers’ first game in their new stadium, and hopefully they are starting their record in the building off with a loss.

Sure, a divisional game will always be tough, just by virtue of being a divisional rival. Playing these teams two times a year, every year, gives the players and coaches of divisional opponents additional information and familiarity that they can use in preparation for the game.

However, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 2 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers is maybe the easiest game on the entire schedule.

The Chiefs open the season on Thursday Night Football against the Houston Texans, and then get 10 days rest before having to travel to L.A. to take on their divisional opponents. Andy Reid and company will have extra time to plan and prepare for a team they are already overly familiar with. With that much rest and prep time, the Chiefs are set up to have a great game.

That is without mentioning Tyrod Taylor and his inexperience running the Charger’s offense, giving the Chiefs’ defense an opportunity to shine and get some of that momentum that they found late in the 2019 season.
