1. @ New Orleans Saints – Week 15

The Ravens game may decide the playoff picture in the AFC, but this Week 15 matchup in New Orleans is the toughest game for Kansas City. The Saints are my favorite team to reach the Super Bowl from the NFC and if Kirk Cousins stops turning into Joe Montana in the playoffs against them, we might have seen them this past year.

The Saints are a complete team top to bottom. From head coach Sean Payton to ageless wonder Drew Brees at quarterback, this team poses some serious issues. First is the connection that Drew Brees and Michael Thomas have. It is almost unfathomable how great they have been together, yet they seemingly don’t get enough attention. Thomas is setting records while an extremely efficient Brees has been setting completion percentage records for a few years now. They might be the best QB to WR connection in the NFL.

The Saints have a balanced attack with Alvin Kamara and the resurgence last year of Lat Murray. Add in a good offensive line and the addition of Emmanual Sanders and this team is scary. The defense consists of Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, Marshon Lattimore, and now Malcom Jenkins which gives them not only top-end talent but the veteran leadership that seemingly helps push teams over the top. This could be the Super Bowl preview and, in Week 15, it’s a great test to get the Chiefs ready for the playoffs.

There you have it, the top 5 toughest matchups for Kansas City next year. Who do you think the toughest matchup is and how do you think the Chiefs fare in these tough games? Feel free to tweet me your predictions @HomestretchKC.
