Three thieves reportedly made off with $1,000 in cash after they robbed Kansas City Chiefs running back Damien Williams in Los Angeles.

This has been a weird offseason for all of us, but for Kansas City Chiefs running back Damien Williams, he’s reportedly dealing with the violation of being robbed by three suspects in Los Angeles.

Per TMZ, Williams was in L.A. when three men broke into the home and demanded money. The trio made their escape with a total of $1,000-plus dollars and are now on the run from law enforcement who are looking for surveillance videos and other such leads to identify and track down the suspects.

Williams has been with the Chiefs for the last two seasons after coming over in free agency from the Miami Dolphins. In each of the last two years, he’s come up big down the stretch with his greatest production on the biggest stages including a Super Bowl performance worthy of the MVP trophy (that eventually went to quarterback Patrick Mahomes). Williams had 17 rushes for 104 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground along with another touchdown catch among his four total receptions for 29 receiving yards.

Williams is in his last season of his contract with the Chiefs and the team just selected Louisiana State’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see how the Chiefs decide to utilize Williams after such a strong postseason performance given their high investment in Edwards-Helaire.

Williams has averaged 4.7 yards/carry since joining the Chiefs in 2018.
