25. Minnesota Vikings – Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

Analysis by Arrowhead Addict contributor Sterling Holmes

With the Vikings selecting a corner just a few picks ago, the focus turns to another position left vacant due to trade/free agency. This was a tough spot with Yetur Gross-Matos still on the board, who would fill in nicely for the likely departure of Everson Griffen. (Griffen said he was ending negotiations with the Vikings although he has still yet to sign with another team). However, the bigger loss was Stefon Diggs. The Vikings need someone alongside Adam Thielen to help Kirk Cousins and this passing attack. Enter Tee Higgins.

Tee Higgins is an absolute beast at wide receiver and ended his career at Clemson tied for most receiving touchdowns (27) with DeAndre Hopkins and Sammy Watkins. At 6’4, 215 lbs., he is an outstanding red zone threat. One of his best abilities is to go up and get the ball, which when Kirk Cousins is your QB, you’ll have to do a time or two. He played all 3 receiver spots in college which is a plus. He also has the ability to win 1-on-1 matchups, which he’ll earn plenty of such looks given Adam Thielen’s presence.

Higgins says he models his game after Julio Jones and AJ Green and after watching the tape, it is obvious to see those are good comparisons. Not getting ahead of myself and saying he will be as good as those two but you have to like the tantalizing potential that he offers. With a floor higher than Denzel Mims and the Vikings in win-now mode, you have to like this pick. (Sterling Holmes)

Other Players Considered: Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge, Penn State; Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado
