21. Philadelphia Eagles – Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU

Analysis by Arrowhead Addict contributor Rylan Stiles

The Philadelphia Eagles are in desperate need of pass catching help. By the end of last season, the NFC East champs relied on Greg Ward Jr. as their top wideout down the stretch. Still playing in a winnable division and with the expanded postseason, the Eagles do not need to go into a total rebuild. However, they do need to improve their supporting cast around Carson Wentz. With other top targets off the board, Justin Jefferson seems like a lock to land in Philly if he falls to No. 21.

While Wentz has dealt with a ton of injuries throughout his career, when he can stay on the field, he has shown the talent of a franchise QB. He was even playing at an MVP level during the 2018 campaign before suffering a season ending injury in December.

However, he can not do it alone. Jefferson’s only concern is if he can play outside. He has the size to do so, but as a route runner ,he is shaky. However, unlike former Eagles first round pick Nelson Agholor, Jefferson’s hands are not the problem. If he can develop a solid route tree, he is just the target the Eagles need to revamp their offense.

While he did not take the field for a single game during the Eagles championship run, it is clear Wentz, when healthy, can lead this team back to a championship. You just have to give him the weapons to do so. This pick is a good first step. (Rylan Stiles)
