The 2020 NFL Draft is finally upon us, so it’s time to unveil my annual draft crush list for the Kansas City Chiefs. Did any of your favorite prospects make this year’s list?

The NFL Draft is one of my favorite events in all of sports. It may not surpass the excitement level of watching the Kansas City Chiefs play in a big game, but it’s a close second for me. That’s part of the reason I spend countless hours watching game tape of prospects and looking for players I believe will be a great fit for my favorite team.

Every year there are prospects with whom I fall in love—not necessarily because they are the best at that position. Instead there is just something about them that I really like. Sometimes it’s an early round guy that is so good you can’t help but appreciate him (e.g. Patrick Mahomes). Other times, it’s a mid-round guy you believe is going to be a steal. (I felt that way about Darwin Thompson last season).

Sometimes our draft crushes are logical and most everyone agrees on them; other times you may really like a guy that others aren’t sold on (or are even aware of). The worst is when a player you love ends up on a team you loath. I was a huge Gabe Jackson fan when he came out, and when the Oakland Raiders drafted him, I was devastated. On the other side, there is nothing better than hearing your favorite team call the name of a player you’re obsessed with. I’m fortunate that the Chiefs have drafted some of my biggest draft crushes over the years, from Eric Berry to Patrick Mahomes to Juan Thornhill just last season.

I realize not every fan has the time to watch hours of tape and develop these same obsessions on players. With the draft just days away, I thought I’d share my draft crushes for the 2020 Draft with you. I’ve been doing draft crush pieces here at Arrowhead Addict for years, but last year was the first time I did a full Draft Crush Team with someone at (almost) every position. At each position, I’ll give you my favorite crush for this year, plus an honorable mention that I really like as well.

So let’s get this thing started with the quarterbacks.
