#5 – Joe Horn, Wide Receiver

The fifth round was so barren in terms of talent that I did have to stretch the aforementioned caveat to find a fifth round pick to place as number five on this list.

Wide receiver Joe Horn, straight from the football powerhouse Itawamba Junior College, was drafted with the 135th pick of the 1996 draft. In fact, Horn is the only NFL player ever produced by the institution.

Horn played in Kansas City only four seasons, and recorded only four receptions in his first two years. However, starting in year three Horn became virtually an every-game contributor for Kansas City over his last two seasons and kept ascending as his career took him to the New Orleans Saints.

Horn would go on to win a Super Bowl ring, earn four Pro Bowl selections, and put over 500 catches in the Big Easy.

Horn finished his career with the Atlanta Falcons in 2007 at the age of 35. All told in his career, Horn had 603 receptions for 8,744 yards and 58 touchdown receptions.
