One of the running backs linked most with the Kansas City Chiefs, Zack Moss, got a good word on his surgically repaired knee from doctors.

Two years ago, running back Zack Moss underwent a surgical procedure for an injured knee suffered during practice late during his junior season at the University of Utah. On Thursday, NFL teams got word that the repaired knee is still looking good and shouldn’t be a problem going forward with his professional football career.

Moss is an intriguing back heading into the 2020 NFL Draft and he’s often linked to the Kansas City Chiefs in mock drafts in the middle rounds. While Moss isn’t considered a top-tier back like Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor or Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins, Moss is still a Day 2 consideration for the second or third rounds or perhaps early on Day 3.

Fortunately this injury news should help his draft stock for teams that had him questionable on their draft board. When Moss suffered his injury, he was in the middle of a strong junior season that featured a career-high 6.1 yards/carry and 11 touchdowns in only 9 games.

The good news for Moss is that he came back stronger than ever during his senior season and allayed the majority of fears with a season in which he rushed for 15 touchdowns and put up over 1,800 yards from scrimmage. Moss also finished the year with a 6.0 yards/carry average which shows he can be dominant with the ball on the ground as well as the air.

Will the Chiefs make a move for Moss? I’m impossible to say for sure and the odds seem longer now due to recent offseason signings of Mike Weber and DeAndre Washington. Then again, the overall talent level could use a ceiling boost so perhaps Moss is the guy who can deliver there.
