Nick Harris – Washington – 6’1″ – 302 pounds

Washington’s Nick Harris is not a big physical mauler. However, he is a very athletic center that gets to the second level as well as any prospect in this class. He also does a great job with angles and positioning in the run game. The Chiefs used to love to pull Mitch Morse on plays and weren’t able to do that as much with Austin Reiter at center. If they’re looking for a center that is great on the move, Harris is their man.

Harris graded out really well in pass protection. His 83.1 pass protection grade from Pro Football Focus was just behind guys like Cesar Ruiz and Netane Muti (with his limited snaps). While Harris isn’t going to bulldoze NFL caliber defensive tackles, he does a great job of winning positioning and understanding angles in order to wall off rushing lanes.

I like Harris a little more than some other “experts”. I personally think he’s worth a second round pick and feel confident that he would be the day one starter at center next season. You can see how well he gets to the second level in the clip below.

I know this isn’t a very specific scouting detail, but Harris just feels like a guy that the Chiefs would like. Next up, another center prospect with confusing tape over the past few seasons.
