The Kansas City Chiefs don’t have to prove anything to anyone to remain on top of NFL Power Rankings at FanSided.

Despite the near silent approach in free agency so far by the Kansas City Chiefs, there’s no dethroning the defending Super Bowl champions with a bunch of moves on the NFL’s transaction list.

Other teams have loaded up with a series of impressive moves intended to knock off the Chiefs (and other contenders) in the 2020 season with a myriad of free agent signings and trades. Even within the division, all three of the Chiefs’ rivals have made significant moves to bolster weaknesses and it’s hard to not be impressed. Other favored teams outside the AFC West have also enjoyed nice offseasons, including the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs have quietly brought back a few of their own unrestricted free agents while also importing a couple role players to fill needs in the secondary and along the offensive line in Antonio Hamilton and Mike Remmers, respectively. Other than that, the Chiefs have been quiet for the most part yet sit atop FanSided’s latest round of power rankings.

"The Chiefs have lost some supporting players in free agency but nobody irreplaceable. The team still has Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid. If the Chiefs can find a way to keep Chris Jones long-term, they may be atop these ranks for years to come."

The Chiefs remain a very tough out, but the AFC remains loaded with other contenders and some serious question marks. The Ravens added Calais Campbell and have a lot of draft capital to work with. The Colts are bringing in Philip Rivers, signed Xavier Rhodes, and traded for DeForest Buckner. The Broncos traded for A.J. Bouye and Jurrell Casey, while the Chargers added Chris Harris, Bryan Bulaga and Trai Turner.

FanSided’s staff agrees with these moves to a large degree, seeing as they have the Ravens at No. 2 overall in the NFL. Then the NFC takes over with the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers next.
