NFL.com: Terrell Burgess, Utah

Chad Reuter has a new four-round mock over at NFL.com and he’s got the Chiefs going for positional versatility as well as quality play in the secondary with the first-round selection of Burgess. He writes, “Burgess is considered a safety by many, but I think he could play in the slot and even outside if given the chance. The Chiefs could use help at both spots.”

Burgess is a 6’0, 200 lb. prospect who really came into his own last year with the Utes after playing part-time in the Pac-12 in each of the previous two seasons. Very few would doubt that Burgess would be a nice sub package defender, special teams ace, and positive contributor but this seems like a serious reach at this stage of the draft. Insider projections for Burgess would have to be much higher for the Chiefs to take him here over other quality players left on the board (Kristian Fulton, Jaylon Johnson).
