CBS Sports: Noah Igbinoghene, Auburn

Over at CBS, Pete Prisco has the Chiefs selecting Igbinoghene, a high-potential defensive back out of Auburn. Prisco writes, “Their corner situation isn’t good, so why not take a solid cover player from a big-time program? This kid can fly.”

Igbinoghene is a super athletic player who was a high school track star who just converted from wide receiver to cornerback in 2018 with the Tigers. Even with the lack of experience, Igbinoghene’s natural giftedness showed clearly in the SEC with 18 passes defended over the last two seasons.

Igbinoghene also averaged 35 yards per kick return for Auburn last season and comes with plenty of experience there. A team like the Chiefs could bring him along at whatever speed desired knowing he’d be a special teams contributor as well and that the secondary could be flexible enough to let him grow into an eventual starting role.
