Remember when Trent Dilfer was hilariously wrong about the Chiefs losing Super Bowl?

If you need a break from watching your taped copy of the Kansas City Chiefs beating the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl you can watch this video of Trent Dilfer being wrong about the game on a loop.

Remember when Trent Dilfer suggested the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes might get stomped by the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl? It is ok if you don’t recall this. I personally have forgotten a lot of things that happened before the Super Bowl because I have been drinking a bottle of champagne every day since the Chiefs won the Lombardi and I think all the booze is starting to affect my memory.

If you need a refresher, Dilfer was on The Herd with Colin Cowherd leading up to the big game when he suggested that the Chiefs might meet the same fate as Dan Marino’s Miami Dolphins and John Elway’s Denver Broncos when their teams ran up against the old 49ers dynasty in Super Bowls.

There were a lot of good responses to Dilfer’s prediction but my favorite came from former Arrowhead Addict contributor, Stacy Smith.

Well done, sir.

Look, I have nothing against Dilfer. Being a TV analyst is an unforgiving job. Viewers want predictions with their analysis and everything and everything the analysts say is on tape. Heck, even here on Arrowhead Addict we’ve all been incredibly wrong at one time or another with our predictions about the Chiefs. Earlier in the season, I wrote an entire post (that I thankfully never published) declaring that there was absolutely no way the Chiefs defense would improve. I wanted Brett Veach to go all in and give up high draft picks if necessary, to trade for help. I guess that is why Veach gets paid millions to win Super Bowls and I get paid not millions to write about Veach winning Super Bowls.

All that being said, I’m still a fan and there is nothing I love more than when people count out the Chiefs and Chiefs Kingdom and are proven wrong. So today, while we are all stuck in our houses, I figured I’d drop a little reminder to you all about how wrong Trent Dilfer was about the Super Bowl. I hope it gives you a chuckle during these difficult times.
