Chris Harris Jr.

An obvious welcome addition to the Chiefs secondary would be Chris Harris Jr. of the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs have a lot of free agents at cornerback, and need to make some decisions regarding their corners. If they decide to pursue a cornerback in free agency, Chris Harris Jr. makes a lot of sense.

Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu has already been recruiting Harris to join the team. Harris has been in the league nine years and has spent every year with Denver. However, he believes that the door with Denver has been closed and will likely be looking to join another team this year.

Harris would be a huge addition for the Chiefs. He’d also be an expensive option; Spotrac has his market value set as $11 million a year. While the Chiefs could make this work, if they decided to pursue Harris they’d have to make some sacrifices in other areas.

Kendall Fuller

If the Chiefs wanted to stay within the team, they could look at resigning Kendall Fuller. Fuller saw his production drop this year, but he was still an essential piece in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl run. Fuller actually only started four games for the Chiefs this season, but played in eleven. He only had 1 interception and 49 tackles during the regular season and had 1 interception during the playoffs.

Though he didn’t have the best season, he could be looking at a big bounce back season next year. He’s also only 25 and entering a prime time of his career. This season he not only played slot cornerback, but took snaps at safety as well. He showed off his versatility and his usefulness to the Chiefs.

If the Chiefs decided against resigning Kendall Fuller, they should look to resign Bashaud Breeland. Both cornerbacks had a strong impact on the Chiefs’ season and it would be a big hit to the team to lose both valuable corners to free agency.
