Preparing a free agency wishlist for the KC Chiefs defense

Kyle Van Noy
The Chiefs still need linebacker help, and Kyle Van Noy of the New England Patriots would be a great player to provide that help. Van Noy has been in the league for seven years and would be a nice addition to the Chiefs linebacker corps.
This last season, Van Noy started all 15 games he played in and racked up 6.5 sacks and 56 tackles. He also caused 3 forced fumbles and scored 1 touchdown. He would be a great fit to the Chiefs 4-3 defensive scheme.
Van Noy wouldn’t break the bank either. Spotrac sets his market value as $8.3 million, which would be easily doable for the Chiefs. Overall, Van Noy would provide needed help to the Chiefs linebackers at an affordable cost. He would also bring a veteran presence to the linebacker corps.
Cory Littleton
A more expensive, but perhaps more needed player, would be Cory Littleton of the Los Angeles Rams. Littleton is an inside linebacker who started all 16 games this last season and finished with 3.5 sacks, 134 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles. The Chiefs desperately need a consistent linebacker to fill the middle, and Littleton fits the bill.
Littleton would be an expensive move for the Chiefs, as Spotrac sets his market value as $12.2 million. However, Littleton is just what the Chiefs need. Not only is he a consistent tackler, but also great in coverage. Something the Chiefs lacked this last season was a consistent inside linebacker, but they could fill that need with Cory Littleton.
Littleton is only 26 and would be a great all around fit for the Chiefs. While he’d be a price addition, inside linebacker is one of the Chiefs’ greatest needs and if they want to make another run at the Super Bowl, they might need to pay the price.
