Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Bennie Logan has joined Ed Orgeron’s staff at LSU as a defensive line analyst.

Bennie Logan has turned the page on his career in the NFL. The former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman was recently announced as the newest member of Ed Orgeron’s staff at Louisiana State University as a defensive line analyst.

Logan, who was a product of LSU himself from 2009-2012, played under head coach Les Miles. Logan had 107 tackles, including 12.5 for a loss, and 5 total sacks in his college career. Still only 30-years-old, Logan will be joined by another former pro defensive tackle in Damione Lewis, who played 141 games over 10 seasons for the Rams, Panthers and Texans.

Logan played for the Chiefs for only one season, in 2017, as a replacement for Dontari Poe, who left the team that offseason as a free agent. Unfortunately Logan didn’t live up to expectations after coming over from the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Chiefs made no overtures to re-sign him after his one-year, $8 million deal was up.

From there, Logan joined the Tennessee Titans, again for a single season, and failed to start a single game despite playing in 15 that year. He ended the season with 14 tackles and zero sacks and hasn’t played a single down in the NFL since that year.

Logan was originally a third round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Eagles and he played there through his rookie contract. He finished his time in the NFL with 230 tackles and 7 sacks in 89 games across six seasons.
