Josh Bynes

Bynes is an older linebacker (30) but he could plug in and play immediately for the Chiefs.

Like Kwiatkoski, Bynes’ strength is his pass coverage. His passer rating against last season was a stout 46.1. He’s played for the Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, and most recently the Baltimore Ravens. While his age makes it unlikely that he’ll be a long-term answer, with the likely loss of Ragland, the Chiefs may want to also consider adding some experience to the linebacking core.

Bynes is the perfect contract for a stop-gap player who the Chiefs would not need to commit to long term. In the event that Bynes performs well, or became a starter, the Chiefs could reassess him from that point.
