Blake Bell

This is not the exciting addition that some of Chiefs Kingdom will be wanting, but Bell won a Super Bowl with the team as their TE2 and he might be up for it again if Veach wants him back.

Deon Yelder is already back as an exclusive rights free agent, but nothing is proven there and the Chiefs might not be ready to call on him as TE2 just yet. Bell isn’t sexy, but he got the job done for the Chiefs and knows the system now after a year within it. Plus there are local ties here.

Last year, Bell caught only 8 of 15 passes thrown his way, which led to an abysmal 53 percent catch rate. However, it’s such a small sample size that it’s hard to believe Bell wouldn’t improve on that if given a chance. Plus it’s not as if the Chiefs backup tight ends are known for their elite hands.

Basically if the Chiefs know what they want and feel that Bell was enough, a second round of vanilla isn’t the worst way to go, especially knowing that he’ll likely play on a veteran’s minimum deal.
