They say:

"The NFL’s best offense is about to get more dangerous."

We say:

This is a dream scenario—as in a person has to be dreaming in order for this to happen.

Swift is undoubtedly an exceptional talent with a bright future in professional football, and he would immediately become the head of the class among the team’s running back—even after the MVP-esque performance of Damien Williams in the Super Bowl. However, the idea of the team taking a first round running back simply isn’t going to happen.

The Chiefs just proved themselves to be the best team in the NFL while working with a committee of castoffs at running back. Darrel Williams was injured for the postseason, so the Chiefs will welcome him back. Darwin Thompson also showed plenty of potential if he can improve as a pass protector. Damien also has a year remaining on his contract extension in 2018.

Swift rushed for 1,218 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Georgia Bulldogs against SEC’s tough slate of opposing teams and he did so with an average of 6.2 yards/carry. If he’s available in the second round or later, the Chiefs could make a move, but the position doesn’t provide the sort of on-field impact worthy of taking up the Chiefs first round selection. That’s not a knock on Swift; it’s just the reality facing K.C, who could use that pick to secure another defensive back or significant help at linebacker or interior linemen.
