Pro wrestler Chris Jericho tried his, ahem, best to rile up the crowd in Kansas City by calling out “Aaron Mahome.” So yeah, that happened.

You guys, I just can’t stop thinking about Aaron Mahome this morning. I’ve watched the (NSFW) video a few times already, reliving the horror of being called out by professional wrestler Chris Jericho. Sometimes celebrities really pay the price, especially MVP-caliber players like, you know, Aaron Mahome.

In all seriousness, in case you missed it, longtime wrestler Chris Jericho and the rest of All Elite Wrestling made a stop in Kansas City recently. Jericho was only there to apparently weigh in for a future bout (see the scale) and if that sounds boring, it likely is, which is why he wanted to add some drama by insulting a local hero.

I won’t pretend to know anything here, since I haven’t watched pro wrestling since a guy named Ravishing Rick Rude wooed women from the ring. However I at least know the name Chris Jericho and, well, Jericho should at least know the name Patrick Mahomes.

Check out the following (again, language warning):

Maybe Jericho has done the Liontamer one too many times or maybe he’s too old. After all, he literally made his debut in 1990 when Mahomes, the real one, was negative-5 years of age. That said, Mahomes is a household name these days as the best young quarterback in football and if you’re going to call it out, at least insult a man by using his name correctly.

Then again, we can now enter Aaron Mahome into the names of the greatest Chiefs who never were. Was Aaron Mahome a better pro than Leon Sandcastle? Or what about the famous Chiefs coach Randy Reid?

By the way, if pro wrestling now features matches near the Dippin Dots station, I might need to start watching it again.
