Zack Moss, Utah
Zack Moss has had dreams of playing in the NFL for some time, a realistic one given his cousin Santana Moss played at a high level in the league for a few years.
Moss is a highly productive running back out of the Pac-12 who has put up three consecutive seasons of 1,000 yards rushing or more and two straight years of averaging 6.0 yards/carry or higher. He was this year’s Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year and finished his time with the Utes with an incredible 41 career touchdowns.
Moss is a very physical back who comes with good size at 5’9, 223 lbs. A powerful runner with great balance, Moss’s athleticism is surprising and his instincts are solid. And of course, he packs a punch while running and it can be fun watching defenders trying to bring him down.
The downside here is that a knee injury ended his 2018 season, which means his durability has been called into question. Also a team predicated on using speed to stretch the field offensively might want to reach into the draft bag for a more elusive runner with top-tier speed.
