The Kansas City Chiefs have 20 players hitting unrestricted free agency along with a number of other decisions to make in the next month.

The Kansas City Chiefs just reached the ultimate team pinnacle for every NFL player just one week ago: the hoisting of the Lombardi Trophy as members of the Super Bowl LIV winning roster. However, for many players, the individual dream has yet to be fulfilled.

For most players, the goal isn’t just to win a championship at the highest levels of professional football. It’s also about acquiring generational wealth. Getting to that second payday means life-changing amounts of money, moving from the slotted rookie deals that every player is given entering the NFL to the open market which will allow some players the ability to make much, much more.

For 20 members of the Super Bowl winning Chiefs roster, unrestricted free agency is about to hit. Some might return to wear red and gold for another season, but others will find their championship expertise rewarded by teams with money to spend. Still, decisions must be made internally by the Chiefs about each of the following players and how they might fare on the open market.

Will Chris Jones return? Why aren’t more people talking about a return for Kendall Fuller or Bashaud Breeland? Will Mike Pennell capitalize on his impressive half season in K.C.? What about backup quarterbacks for 2020?
