Kansas City Chiefs team president Mark Donovan says this weekend’s inclement weather should not present a problem for field conditions against the Texans.

Kansas City Chiefs fans got a nice preview back in mid-December of how their favorite team would play in inclement weather. In a dominating effort against the visiting Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs simply shrugged in the face of several inches of snow and played as if the were in a dome. All the while, Drew Lock hit his first real wall as a professional quarterback and the Broncos were left shaking their heads following a 23-3 loss.

This Sunday, the Houston Texans are scheduled to visit Arrowhead for the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs and the region is once again predicted to receive heavy snowfall all weekend long. Patrick Mahomes and company looked very comfortable in the elements the first time around, but given the forecast and the readiness of crews in and around the stadium, it sounds as if the weather might not be as big of a hurdle for either side.

Chiefs team president Mark Donovan spoke to reporters ahead of the game on Sunday afternoon and said the team had a plan no matter how the weather might turn—whether it follows the actual forecast that meteorologists are predicting or making an unexpected appearance on the actual day of the game before both teams take the field.

"“If it goes the way the forecast [indicates], we’ll probably uncover it on Saturday night, let it breathe a little bit, and then be ready to go on Sunday,” he said. “But if there’s any chance of any snow on Saturday night, we’ll keep it covered until the morning of the game.”"

For most of Saturday, the K.C. region has been placed under a winter storm warning with a mix of sleet, rain, and snow expected. Total snow accumulation could reach four to six inches. Fortunately, the weather forecast for game time at 2:05 C.T. on Sunday afternoon is partly cloudy with a temperature of 32 degrees with the wind blowing around 11 m.p.h.
