The Chiefs fan base has endured more stomach punches than most in NFL playoff history, so what would be the most Chiefs way to lose in 2020?

Ah, the crisp air and lack of a full slate of football games on Sunday signify one thing: it is time for the NFL Playoffs! What an exciting time, right? Visions of Patrick Mahomes hoisting the Lombardi Trophy dance in the minds of Chiefs fans as we await kickoff against the Houston Texans.

Let’s be honest: many of us are also likely wrapped up in a weighted blanket to push back against our fears and anxieties.

You have your Dee Ford offsides play, which happened last season against the New England Patriots. The one play that stopped the Kansas City Chiefs fan base from experiencing that sweet Super Bowl nectar for the first time in more than a geneartion. But it does not stop there.

Pick your own adventure with whichever playoff loss you would like against the Indianapolis Colts. The Marcus Mariota self-touchdown-pass game. The list goes on and on. In fact, the list seems never-ending.  If it was not for the disastrous Browns, the depressing Lions, or the inept Redskins, the Chiefs would have the title for the most heartbreaking organization.

But that is all behind us, right? I mean you have experts picking the Kansas City Chiefs to go to the Super Bowl! They have the best quarterback in the NFL. They employ one of the best coaches in league history. They boast three elite players on defense. What could go wrong?

Well, as true Kansas City Chiefs fans, I had a discussion with fellow Arrowhead Addict contributor Jacob Harris on the Arrowhead Addict Podcast. When will the other shoe drop for Kansas City? What is the most Chiefs way to lose?

Listen to this edition of the AA podcast to hear us work through our fears. Laugh so you don’t cry, goes the saying. We’re just trying to exorcise our worries and any postseason demons that might remain.
