The Houston Texans are expected to have wide receiver Will Fuller back in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Houston Texans got some good news with word that wide receiver Will Fuller is expected to return from his groin injury and play in the team’s upcoming Divisional Round playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fuller’s presence outside forces the Chiefs to respect the downfield dimension he adds while simultaneously trying to stay on top of DeAndre Hopkins and spy on quarterback Deshaun Watson up close in the box. It’s a tough task for any defense, and Fuller has specifically hurt defenses that allowed him too much freedom. In Week 12, he put up 140 yards in an important win over the Indianapolis Colts. He also bullied the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5 for 217 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.

Fuller originally went down with the hamstring injury in mid-October in the first game against the Colts this year. He went on to miss three more games then but returned and re-aggravated the injury and missed Week 14 as well. The team rested him in Week 17 but he was forced to miss the Wild Card win over the Buffalo Bills as well.

Fuller has yet to play in all 16 games in a given season, and his career high is 14 from his rookie year in 2016. Since then, he played in only 10, 7, and 11 games for the Texans, a frustrating run of injuries that severely limits the Texans’ ability to stretch the field vertically.

Fuller had 5 catches on 9 targets for 44 receiving yards in the Texan’s win over the Chiefs in Week 6. On the season, he has 49 catches on 71 targets for 670 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns in 11 starts.
