The Cleveland Browns have scheduled some time with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy on Friday.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy already had two interviews on his schedule this week as the team enjoys a bye week during the Wild Card round of the postseason. On Thursday, he sat down with the Carolina Panthers for the first time, and on Saturday, the New York Giants will spend time with him as well. Now we’ve learned the Cleveland Browns will squeeze in between with a Friday interview as well.

Bieniemy has been linked to nearly every single team with a head coach opening this offseason. He was even considered a frontrunner for the Washington Redskins opening—that is, until the Panthers decided to fire Ron Rivera. From there, Washington acted pretty fast to seal the deal with Rivera which clouded the picture a bit for Bieniemy.

Bieniemy also went through this process with a few teams last year after his first season as Andy Reid’s offensive right hand. He had served as the team’s running backs coach for five seasons before taking over the coordinator role from Matt Nagy, who left to lead the Chicago Bears. Bieniemy now has two years as the Chiefs O.C. and seven total seasons studying under Andy Reid.

Bieniemy, however, might face more of an uphill climb than anyone might expect due to the number of openings compared to previous years. This offseason has featured more patient owners than expected as the head coaches for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, and Atlanta Falcons were all given one more year to turn things around rather than start all over.

Next. The only metric for success in K.C. is a Super Bowl win. dark
